Handbags of Hope was finally awarded its official non-profit 501(c)(3) status yesterday, May 19, 2010. As founder Jackie Bobcean noted on Facebook that’s worth a happy dance.
Getting that status is costly and takes tons of time filling out a multitude of forms and meeting dozens of specific requirements. I’m so proud of Jackie, Lisa and the rest of the core gang for sticking with this even when the going got really rough and they sat stuck in the mud at times.
One more reason for a good party, too. So hope to see lots of friends at the June 12th special purse party. Check out the Events page for more info.
